Wow

My plan for last night was to head to the Lantern Festival but when the storm rolled in I didn't think the rain and paper lanterns would photograph well. Instead I went to my good friends apartment to capture the lightning storm which moved over the city just in time for the fireworks.

Meet The Horvaths

This beautiful scene took place in Tofino a few weeks ago. I just passed the discs onto the newlyweds today so I feel ok about posting this one. I’ll give them a few more days to view them before I share more with the rest of the world. Congrats again to Mr. and Mrs. H.

Tofino Surf

It’s hard to believe that I have lived in BC since I was nine and this was my first trip to Tofino. I was lucky to be involved in a small intimate wedding of two lovely friends, which I was also the official photographer. The weather was perfect that day and this was the view from the restaurant where the reception of 12 people was held.

The Legend Lives On

On a whim a few weeks back I entered a pet photo contest for a year supply of cat, which is greatly appreciated, with my special needs diabetic cat. I entered a photo of my other cat who is no longer with us but who also had diabetes. I know what you are thinking I had never heard of cat diabetes either and we ended up with two diabetic cats. This photo of Paco won me the prize in which I had to tell the breakfast television hosts that the cat in the picture would have no problem eating that much food. I didn’t have the heart to tell them he had passed and the rules didn’t say he had to be alive. Thanks Paco.

Delhi 2 Dublin Part 2

At the last minute on Saturday the husband and I decided we should go check out one of the last days of the Vancouver Jazz Festival. We both have an aversion to crowds so we usually avoid these kinds of events but I’m so glad we made the effort. The weather was perfect for an outdoor concert and it turned out the group playing at David Lam Park included an old friend from Whistler. If you have never heard of Delhi 2 Dublin you need to check them out below. They blew us away with their live show, which we were lucky enough to watch from backstage. They describe their genre as world fusion, bhangra, global and celtic. Amazing.

Mr. M

I just spent a few hours loading 2000 photos into my computer from the last week. Busy busy week. I now have to spend a few days editing in a really hot apartment but I’m really excited to work on all the photos. These two gems are from one of my last days with Mr. M for the summer. I will miss him terribly.
