I really lucked out the weather on this shoot before the Christmas holidays. The weather changed for us just in time to head outside before the sun went down. How I love that light.

Newborn Portraits Maple Ridge BC - Vancouver BC Based Photographer
Welcome 2014! What a better way to start the year with the posting of a beautiful newborn baby girl. I have been holding onto this one for months because the photos were family Christmas presents. If you come here often you know I have been pretty absent from new blog postings. I love photography but struggle with the blogging and the whole social media world. Its no longer good enough to be a good photographer. I'm leery of making a new years resolution about posting more here but I will do my best to bring you as much content as possible. It feels good to have a fresh new start and be positive for the coming year. Lets begin it with this cute little face and very proud parents.

Rocky Mountaineer trip to Whistler - Vancouver BC Based Photographer
In late August I travelled on the Rocky Mountaineer to Whistler and back on the same day. I loved this trip for three reasons. I was joining my close and friend and his young son, I was photographing the trip for The Whistler Insider Blog and it made me think about my father the whole day who loved trains. He had spent the last years of his life working on his dream train set with a custom carrying case and intricate village set in the mountains. He shared his love of trains with me my whole life but didn't really appreciate it until I made this trip. It was a beautiful day.

Family Portraits Guelph Ontario - Vancouver BC Based Photographer
This past August I shot a beautiful wedding in Guelph but I also had the chance to photograph an old Whistler friend and his adorable family. The old saying goes "never work with children and animals" but this session broke that rule.
